Mergers and acquisitions are becoming more common strategic growth strategies for companies looking to expand, gain a competitive edge, or acquire new technologies and skill sets. An often forgotten part of due diligence is the question of company culture, which often makes the difference between success and failure.

How do companies protect their culture during and after an acquisition?  Our panel of experts will explore this important and essential issue as they share their experience behind the union of company cultures during a merger or acquisition.

Ray Duimstra of Crystal Flash, Christine Case of Case for Change, and Todd Custer of Custer, Inc. will each share their unique experiences about maintaining and protecting company culture when managing a merger and/or acquisition. Moderated by Sherri Amstutz of Accelerated Knowledge.

Key Takeaways:

  • How can you better understand the cultures of both companies before the acquisition?
  • What criteria can you use to ensure cultural alignment?
  • How can you be intentional about finding a company that matches with your culture?
  • How can you alleviate the fears of the employees at the company being acquired?
  • What can you do to encourage transparency between companies and repair misalignment?
  • Why is it important to create a formal plan to address culture as part of the acquisition strategy?
